Rohini means red in colour. It is the main and red coloured star of the Taurus constellation. The western name of this star named Alpha Taurus is Aldebaran derived from Arabic word Al-Darban, which means the one who pursues (Krittika). It is thirty times bigger than the Sun and is 70 light years away from the Earth. In Indian belief, Rohini constellation is also seen as a shape of five stars, in which the shape of Rohin (a vehicle like horse carriage or bullock cart) is imagined. This cluster is called Hyades in the West, which means rain. In Western countries, this name was given on the experience of bringing rain when the Sun comes in Rohini constellation. According to mythology, the Moon was cursed for loving Rohini among his 27 wives and spots appeared on it.

Jamun
