Nakshatra Description Magha means wealth. The group of six stars towards the 'lion face' of Leo zodiac sign which forms a sickle like shape is called Magha constellation. The name of the month of Magha is based on this constellation. The main star of this constellation Alpha Leo (Regulus) is blue-white in colour and ranks twentieth among the brightest stars in the entire sky. Another name of this constellation is Anagha, which means sinless. A shower of meteors has been seen in the middle of November from a point near the Zeta Leo star of this constellation, which becomes maximum every 33-34 years. After 1965, this meteor shower occurred again in November 1998.

Banyan
Banyan is called Vat (wrapping, encircling), Nyagrodha (growing by wrapping), Bahupad, Raktphal, Rohin, Yakshavas in Sanskrit and in English it is called Banyan Tree (Tree of Baniyas) and in scientific language it is called Ficus Bengalensis. It is an evergreen giant shade tree, which is found all over India. Roots hang from its branches, which after going into the ground start providing nutrition and support to its branches through themselves.

Mythological Significance
The shade of this tree is considered to be the best for listening to religious stories. Lord Shiva is believed to reside in this tree. The Banyan tree's indomitable capacity to grow and its ability to live forever makes it worthy of worship for attaining these qualities. Sita had worshipped this tree with this desire during her journey to exile.
